vespa x fred perry

To celebrate Fred Perry's 100 year anniversary, they've sorted out another collaboration! This time with Vespa!

I found this when I was looking at the Adidas x Vepsa gear, and half expected a few polo's with an extra logo... but to my suprise, they've only gone and done a scooter!

Available in the UK, Japan, US and France, it was released last month and is limited to just 100 bikes!

Its branded with the laurel and twin tipping, and looks amazing! I want one!

adidas x vespa

I like Adidas Originals, and I like Vespa's (a lot). I wasnt too sure about this when I first seen it a while ago, but some of it is real cool.

Some of it, but not much, is available here online. The Originals stores in Japan have quite a bit of it in too.

pretty green

First of all, RIP Oasis :(

Liam's 'Pretty Green' has been available online for a while now, and I really like most of it, except maybe the scarves.

The parka is quality, and Liam was of course wearing it when I seen him at Fuji Rock here in July. It looked very iconic! But £245...??

Order a t-shirt now and you get a free hat.

kanye west's vma shenanigans

He's at it again... another spaz out from Ye' at the VMA's.

And a sincere apology on the Leno show...watch it here...

long time no...

Well well well... certainly been away for a while...but its BIZACK!

Got a lot to catch up on, so there'll be some old posts coming up... but stay tuned while I get up to date with the new stuff.

Also, got a new blog on the way, focusing more on Japan. Thats here...

And... big things coming soon, featuring my old mate Milky.

Watch out!

mooching the music... LITTLE COMETS

Myself and MOOCH love Little Comets...nice lads, bloody good band!

I first saw them at the Bridge in Newcastle last year after some mates were banging on about them, and thought they were great. Then, in the summer, they played at my brothers wedding in Durham castle, and were even better. Since then, they've apparantly been doing well! Radio 1 airtime, Huw Stephens sessions, a new single and a proper video (see below)!

I've been telling loads of people about them here in Canada, and apart from being impressed, they say they sound similar to Vampire Weekend. Thats probably a good thing innit. They do funny things too, like walking into university lectures and public transport around the UK playing their songs, uninvited! Check out their youtube page HERE for all that silliness.

They're currently on a UK tour at the moment and they've just released One Night in October as their debut single with Lucky Number Records... 2009 is looking promising!

Try and catch them at one of their upcoming gigs. (I just noticed aswell that their single is Number 3 on yesterdays BBC Radio 1 Indie Chart! Nice one)

Have a gander at their MYSPACE, FACEBOOK and WEBSITE

shoes.sneakers.trainers.wellies and all that

Adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott- another shoe from this collabo, this time for the ladies, available already at Collette (where you should be able to get most of the future releases, including the winged ones), click here. €120

Fred Perry x Raf Simons- another collabo between these 2. Not sure what i think about these. Coming out in spring 2009

ATO cow hide boots- never really heard of this brand, i think its Japanese. Anyway, these are cool for the summer. Available online here for about $300

Martin Margiela- theres a few really nice trainers from martin margiela's spring/summer line, for more, see here.
Jimmy Choo x Hunter- people here in Canada actually wear wellies a lot, for both practical (cos the snow is proper deep) and fashion (cos they look good, especially on girls) reasons i guess. so i've seen loads of Hunter's and Tretorn's this winter, however, I've seen none as cool as these. They'll be getting released in June, just in time for the festivals. They will only be sold online here, and will cost £250

Jamie Hayon x Camper- these are from last summer, but i recently saw them in New York. it looks like they're only available at Camper stores, and they go for about $250

Reebok 2009- looking at these, it looks like Reebok will be bringing out some nice stuff.

Louis Vuitton x Kanye West- first Pharell, now Kanye is working with LV. These are a preview of the mens sneaker, which were debuted at Paris fashion week, and they come in a range of colours. There will also be a Ladies line.

pool and tisch-tennis just got better...

First of all...thats a fully transparent, glass pool table! And because it is covered in some weird patented resin, it plays exactly like traditional felt. So the balls roll the same.

Watch a video about it here.

Its from Australian based Nottage Design, and it was actually a final year project on an industrial design course (I didnt see anything as good as this at uni!?). Its a cool $21,000! More info here.

Secondly...while I was looking at that pool table, I came across this reflective chrome table-tennis table. Made by Cumulus Design for an Rirkrit Tiravanija Exhibition in New York. On the opening night of the exhibition, famous ping-pong players were invited along to play a tournament on the table.

sharky tea infuser

I like this a lot!

Designed by an Argentian called Pablo Matteoda, who basically said he designed this to make the process of waiting for tea to brew a lot more exciting.

Its still a concept, but we hope it gets produced!!!

Cassette Wallets

Hand-made from cassette tapes, each is a one-off so they're pretty limited.

All the way from Italy, designed by Marcella Fosci, available here for $43

Obama Bandwagon

Its been TIME since I last posted! So might aswell start with something big that I missed. Here's some cool stuff to do with the new President of the Free World (?!)...

1 Obama action figure, from Gamu Toys
2 Awesome tee, get it here for $20
3 Young Obama
4 Black Bart tee by Mishka, get it here for $31.99

roc star backpacks

Love these backpacks, and love roc star/trax in general!!!

Got a bit familiar with this brand and record label when I was in Japan. Home of our favourites, DEXPISTOLS. Roc's music is as good as their clothes, and I think the clothes go hand in hand with the music.

Roc profile coming soon...but for now check their range here.

fly kicks... jeremy scott x adidas originals

Adidas Origianls and American designer Jeremy Scott have teamed up to bring us several seasons worth of treats, dropping 1st February next year.

If these are anything to go by then we'll be seeing some interesting stuff!

More info soon

read this

Wowzers...I just finished reading this book, and I think everyone should read it!

A friend of mine recommended it to me and now I've passed it on to a few mates, who also think/thought it was really good. I just heard that its gonna be released as a movie in 2010, with Don Cheadle (Crash, Oceans etc.) playing the lead role.

Prisons always make for good reading...

pretty sure you've all seen this...but its awesome!

Banksy's first official exhibition in New York is this 'pet store'.

Its supposed to question our 'relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming'.

Bit of a change from his normal stuff...but its still amazing!

a cross the universe †

Well...this looks good!

I'm lucky enough to be going to see Justice, Busy-P and So-Me next week here in Toronto, as part of their 'a cross the universe' release tour.

All you Mooch mag readers in the sunny North-East of England could head down to Manchester on November 8th to catch the tour, more info/tickets click here.

custom built decks...wow

MetroFarm Studio of Berlin, have been producing custom ‘DJ desks’ for the past few years, and this is one of the newest desks, which seems to just hang from the wall!

Past projects have included concrete units, and the newer desks come in stainless steel and antique wood. Each desk is ergonomically customised for every customer, and can be tweaked to their liking.

So if you want to take your bedroom DJing to the next level, take a look here

(Mooch are always looking for DJ’s for our Student nights in Durham. If you or anybody you know are interested, please get in touch!)

chainless bike

This sleek bicycle concept was designed by Bradforth Waugh, a freelance designer from Philadelphia. The bike is hubless and doesn't use a chain.

Although it is not yet in production, there are plans to develop a limited number of ‘Nulla’ bicycles in the future, so for now, you’ll have to stick to your Raleigh Activators!

Peep Bradfords portfolio here.

comme des garçon x h&m

This winter we’ll see another exciting collaboration from the high street favourite. After successful collaborations with big names such as Cavalli and Lagerfeld, the Swedish outfit have now teamed up with Japan’s Rei Kawakubo from Comme des Garçon.

A range of items will be released around the world in conjunction with the opening of Japans second H&M store in November. So look out for it and snap it up quick, as it’s expected to sell out real fast!

See here for more info.
